ORDINANCE NO. 401
AN ORDINANCE ENTPrLED: Ai\j ORDINANCE DETERMINING
THE AMOUNT AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION AND
MAKING THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA, FOR THE YEAR 1946.
BE' IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the amount determined necessary to
be raised by taxation 1n the City of Sanford, Florida, for
the year 1946, for the ordinary purposes of the Munl'c1pali ty
and the Department of Debt Service is the sum of $160,000.00.
Section 2. That the millage for the yee.r 1946 to be
assessed upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all of
the taxable property, except Homesteads to the assessed value
of $5,000.00 or less, within the corporate limits of the City
of Sanford, Florida, is hereby fixed at 2g.0000 mills, to be
allocated as follows:
Department of General Government 15.0000 mills
Department of Debt Service 13.0000 Mills
Section 3. That the millage for the year 1946 to be
assessed upon each d.ollar of the aSBessed valuation of Rll
Homesteads to the assessed value of $5,000.00 or less within
the corporate 1imlts of the City of Sanford, Florida, is hereby
fixed at 13.0000 mills, to be allocated as follows:
Department of Debt Service 13.0000 mills
Section 4. That there shall be and ls hereby levied
for the year 1946 upon each dollar of the assessed valuation
of all taxable property, except Homesteads to the assessed value
of $5,000.00 or less, within the corporate limits of the City of
Sanford, Florida, a tax of 15.0000 mills for the purpose of real-
lzing a sum sufficient to meet and defray the necessary ordinary
running and opera.ting expenses of the City of Sanford, Florida,
for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1946, and ending Sep-
tember 30, 1947.
Section 5. That there shall be and 1s hereby levied
for the year 1946 upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of
all taxable property within the oorporate limits of the City
of Sanford, Florida, a tax of l2.1g37 mills for the purpose of
realizing a sum sufficient to pay interest coupons matur1ng
March 1, 1947, and September 1, 1947, on Refunding Bonds Series
A, of the City of Sanford, Florida, dated March 1, 1937, and
maturing September 1, 1977, and to create a Sinking Fund for the
purchage or acquiring of bonds of said Series A, and a tax of
.e163 mills for the purpose of realizing a sum to apply toward
the payment of interest coupons maturing March 1, 1947, and
September 1, 1947, on Refunding Bonds Series C, D & E, of the
City of Sanford, Florida, dated March 1, 1941, and maturing
September 1, 1977.
Section 6. That all ord1na.noes or parts of ordinances
. in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
Seotion 7. That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon lts passage and adoption.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 23rd day of September, 1946.
