Dear Mr. McKee:
On July 28, 1986, the City Commission appointed you to serve as a
member of the Board of Adjustment and Appeals effective
immediately. You will be filling the unexpired term of Tom
Whigham who resigned due to additional business. You will be
eligible for reappointment to another four year term, if you are
willing to accept, when your present term expires January, 1990.
The Board of Adjustmemt and Appeals is a board that is provided
for by State law and City ordinance to hear cases of municipal
code violations that are non - criminal in nature. The Board of
Adjustment and Appeals has the authority to grant variances of
the Sanford City Building Codes.
The Board is made up of five (5) citizen volunteers such as your-
self, with an interest in our community and its standards.
The Office of the Building Official will answer any questions you
may have pertaining to service on this board and will notify you
of meeting places, times and dates prior to all meetings. You
will also be provided with a copy of the Board's Rules and
Regulations along with copies of the necessary codes that you
will be hearing cases on.
Section 112.3145, Florida Statutes, requires that you file a
Statement of Financial Interests with the Supervisor of Elections
in the county in which you permanently reside within 30 days of
your appointment. Form 1 is enclosed.
