City Commission Chambers
PRESENT: Mark McCarty, Helen Mausser, Trace Trylko, Steve Chusmir, David Daly, Jerry Hargrett - Police
Captain and Gracy Posley
Absent: Excused — Katheryn Alexander, Betty Jack and Joe Torresin
Audience: Anna McCollough
Called to Order by Mr. McCarty. Mr. McCarty requested the Minutes of July 14, 2010 be adopted if there
were no changes. Motioned by Mr. Trylko, seconded by Ms. Mausser; Minutes were approved as written.
Mr. McCarty and Mr. Daly's final terms end September 30, 2010. Mr. McCarty asked Ms. Mausser if she
would consider becoming the Board's chairperson.
Captain Hargrett Address CAB
• Proclamations presented August 9 7 P.M., at the City Commission Meeting
1) Officer Brandon Worrall - for outstanding courage and maintaining
professional composure when shot in the line of duty on June 3, 2010
2) Carolyn McKenney — 1941 hired as the City of Sanford's first female police
officer and first female to be promoted to desk sergeant.
■ Officer Jose Lopez — received Officer of the Year (American Legion) July 18 This officer has compassion
for citizens and the ability to act quickly and effectively when called upon.
• Terry Witt, Community Service Officer and Radley Amerault, Crime Analyst — last day with SPD, July 30
voluntary resignation opportunity.
• Thanks Mr. Chusmir re input on Summer shorts for police officers. Officers are pleased to be wearing them.
• Police and Fire Headquarters — completion/move -in. Another benefit of the new building will be elevated
security and technology upgrades.
New Business
• Locations for quarterly meetings.
■ Mr. Chusmir inquired re the investigation of SPD's off -duty details. The investigation has been completed.
There is confidence in the Power Details System.
N MI. Trylko commented re SACSON's Idignity for the homeless to be held August 12 9 a.m. — 1 p.m. at St.
Paul's Missionary Baptist Church.
• Captain Hargrett invited Mr. Trylko and all members to tour the current Police Department. The tour will be a
revelation of current work conditions and much needed space that the new Public Safety Complex will
accomplish.
■ Mr. McCarty commented he is running for the City Commissioner position in District 1. If possible, he would
like an endorsement from CABoard.
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
