City Commission Chambers
PRESENT: Mark McCarty, David Daly, Betty Jack, Helen Mausser, Joe Torresin, Brian Tooley- Police Chief
and Gracy Posley
Absent: Excused — Katheryn Alexander and Steve Chusmir
Audience: Anna McCollough, Scott Arnett, Greg Woods and Trace Trylko
Called to Order by Mr. McCarty. Mr. McCarty requested the Minutes of April 14, 2010 be adopted if there
were no changes. Motioned by Mr. Daly, seconded by Mr. Torresin; Minutes were approved as written.
Those in the audience were given the opportunity to introduce themselves and speak. Mr. S. Arnett of
Groveview inquired, Chief Tooley explained CABoard's purpose and that the Board is a good source and tool
for the City. Chief Tooley commented to Mr. G. Woods, Sanford is a good City, but a city that has good, bad
and ugly. Mr. T. Trylko a member of SACSON (Seminole Action Coalition Serving Our Needy) commented
regarding homelessness in Sanford. He also attended Sanford Police Department's Prayer Breakfast of May 4
Mr. McCarty commented regarding the gratifying quarterly April 14 CABoard meeting held at the Westside
Community Center. The flyer was distributed for the July 14 quarterly meeting being held at the Lutheran
Church of Redeemer, 2525 S. Oak Avenue, Sanford. This is District 3 with City Commissioner R. Jones.
Chief Tooley Address CAB
• Described Officer Brandon Worrall's circumstances when shot June 3rd in the line -of -duty. Suspected shooter,
16 year old Henry Baker captured. K9 tracking located the hand gun. Fantastic job by all involved.
1113 year old hit and killed (May 23 by vehicle near Ft. Mellon Park (north side)
• FDLE /SPD grand theft /money laundering arrest of B. Mitchell (mortician)
■ Kristi Aday, Deputy City Manager — last day June 2nd
SWOPS Grant Modification — change made to avoid laying off seven officers
■ Police and Fire Headquarters — move -in October 25, 2010, November 2010 grand opening
■ SPD department -wide diversity training completed for sworn and civilians re gays, lesbians, bi- sexuals and
transgender.
New Business
• Mr. Daly suggested possibly having a CABoard booth at the July 4 celebration.
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
