Minutes
Wednesday, March 10, 2010 6:30 P.M.
City Commission Chambers
PRESENT: Mark McCarty, Helen Mausser, David Daly, Katheryn Alexander, Steve Chusmir, Joe Torresin,
Brian Tooley - Police Chief and Gracy Posley
Absent: Excused — Betty Jack and Agnes Knighton
Audience: Anna McCollough, and Andrew Thomas
Called to Order by Mr. McCarty. Mr. McCarty requested the Minutes of February 10, 2010 be adopted if there
were no changes. Motioned by Mr. Daly, seconded by Mrs. Mausser; Minutes were approved as written.
Resignation received from Mark Russi; letter of thank you mailed for his time and commitment to the Board.
Notification will be mailed to Mrs. Knighton re City Ordinance 2009 -4172 requiring a three term limit.
Regretfully, Mrs. Knighton has reached her limit and can no longer serve on the CABoard.
Old Business
■ Mr. Chusmir inquired re procedure to text message; notify citizens regarding an emergency situation in the
community.
Chief Tooley Address CAB
■ Officer involved shooting, February 19 Winn Dixie Plaza. Being investigated by FDLE.
■ Fraternal Order of Police /Sanford Police Department issues in the media.
■ Officers Bowen and Golden II grievance appeals in the City Manager's Office.
■ Department Heads must cut 5% of the current budget and an additional 5% of the 2011 budget.
New Business
■ Discussed planning and location of the April 14 quarterly on- the -road meeting which is to be held in
Commissioner V. Williams', District 2.
■ Mr. A. Thomas made positive comments regarding motivational training he attended for all Sanford Police
Department employees, bookmarks distributed and the Martin Luther King, Jr. event for conflict resolution
from a personal point and how the CABoard can be proactive in the community.
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 P.M.
