City Commission Chambers PRESENT: Mark McCarty, Helen Mausser, Katheryn Alexander, David Daly, Agnes Knighton, Brian Tooley- Police Chief and Gracy Posley Absent: Excused — Mark Russi, Betty Jack and Steve Chusmir Audience: Anna McCollough Called to Order by Mr. McCarty. Mr. McCarty requested the Minutes of October 14, 2009 be adopted if there were no changes. Motioned by Mrs. Mausser, seconded by Mrs. Alexander; Minutes were approved as written. Chief Tooley Address CAB • Finalizing Courtesy Notice (visible valuables in plain sight, unlocked home/business doors, etc.) - recommendation received from Mr. Chusmir. • Seven Keiser University crime scene investigator students graduated from SPD's volunteer academy November 5 Keiser University faculty and crime scene investigator students will partner with SPD to do refresher CSI training for SPD. • Shared action plan from Command Staff meeting of November 5 re Police Community Relations report recommendations. • Viewed on -line SPD website updates. • Viewed on -line crimemapping.com. Highlighted Receive Crime Alerts. • SPD Awards Ceremony, October 29 at the Sanford Civic Center was a great. • Discussed January 13, 2010 CABoard, District 1 community meeting location. Discussion will continue at the December 9, 2009 meeting. • Discussed two vacancies on the Board. Membership from Districts 2 and 3 are preferred to balance the district members. New Business • MT.. Daly inquired if Historic District's privacy fencing requirements contribute to crime? Chief Tooley commented the fencing discourages criminals for they do not know what is on the opposite side of the fence. There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 8 P.M.
