PRESENT: Mark McCarty, Helen Mausser, Steve Chusmir, Mark Russi, David Daly, Betty Jack,
Nancy Roberts, Agnes Knighton, Brian Tooley - Police Chief and Gracy Posley
Absent: Excused — Dr. Brenedette Hardy- Blake, and Katheryn Alexander

Called to Order by Mr. McCarty. Mr. McCarty requested the Minutes of September 9, 2009 be adopted if there
were no changes. Motioned by Mrs. Mausser, seconded by Mr. Chusmir; Minutes were approved as written.
Old Business
■ Mr. Chusmir re emailing calls to dispatch. Chief Tooley communicated with the dispatch communications
liaison that provided numerous problems that could occur if citizens emailed complaints. I.e., the liability of in-
progress calls, dispatcher would not be able to obtain necessary information an officer needs and emails are not
exempt from public records. We can reinforce the option of citizens emailing their concerns to our website.
Chief Tooley Address CAB
■ Will follow through on recommendations received from Mr. Chusmir. Some of the recommendations listed
were shared with the Board and some are currently being handled.
"'Four old SPD vehicles will be donated for Seminole High School's drivers' education program. There is a
major difference between drivers taking the program and those not taking the program; the program works.
• Visited furniture showrooms October 6 & 13 re Police and Fire Headquarters.
• Police Community Relations (enhancement initiatives) final report previously distributed to CAB members.
• CABoard information is being loaded to SPD website. SPD website updates must be approved by Information
Tech division.
■ Invited members to SPD Awards Ceremony — Thursday, October 29 , 6:30 P.M., Sanford Civic Center.
■ Distributed City Commissioners District maps
District 1 — Commr. Woodruff
District 2 — Commr. Williams
District 3 — Commr. Jones
District 4 — Commr. Bridges
Mr. Russi offered Sanford Middle School as a meeting placing for District 2 CAB district meeting.
Chief Tooley checked the location of each CAB member's district.
■ DChief Presley has been assigned to evaluate the Code Enforcement Division for up to thirty days. Trevor
Hampton, Code Enforcement Director resigned.
■ Bikefest was another big success. Quiet pipes at Mellonville Ave. and 2 St. went well. There was a very
diverse crowd at this event. A good time was had by all.
New Business
■ Mrs. Knighton — 1118 Cypress Ave. is vacant. Drug deals are being done at this property. Chief Tooley will
relay to Narcotics Unit.
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 P.M.
