City Commission Chambers PRESENT: David Daly, Katheryn Alexander, Helen Mausser, Jerry Hargrett- Police Captain and Gracy Posley Absent: Excused — Dr. Brenedette Hardy - Blake, Mark McCarty, Betty Jack, Agnes Knighton, Nancy Roberts, and Mark Russi Audience: Mrs. Anna McCollough Called to Order by Mr. Daly. Mr. Daly requested the Minutes of November 12, 2008 and Notes of January 14, 2009 be tabled due to there not being a quorum. Captain Hargrett Address CAB ■ SPD officers completed physical abilities training during the earlier part of February 2009, which is a minimum standard of their position. The PAT is designed to enlighten the officer of their physical fitness. It has motivated officers to become better fit. Performance must be completed within seven minutes nine seconds. Ninety days are allowed to pass, if failed. • Sergeant candidates completed the bi- annual (2 -part) Sergeants Exam on February 19 • Hurricane preparedness will start in March • Deputy Chief Presley attended table top, "what if' scenarios at the Sanford Airport in staying combat ready • More bicycles have been purchased with grant monies. This allows more officers to be out of their patrol vehicle interacting with citizens ■ SPD's Community Policing participated (January 24 in Fly Airport program at Sanford Airport for (70) students doing a great job. Students ages 10 -15 years old can participate in this program quarterly. Parents must be present and sign accountability waivers. Qualifying students are identified via school resource officers. ■ SPD's class D uniform white short is being replaced with a gray shirt with/blue lettering.
