PRESENT: Mark McCarty, Katheryn Alexander, Nancy Roberts, Mark Russi, David Daly, Brian Tooley -
Police Chief and Gracy Posley
Absent: Excused — Dr. Brenedette Hardy - Blake, Betty Jack, Agnes Knighton, Helen Mausser and
Mark Russi
Called to Order by Mr. Daly. Mr. Daly requested the Minutes of November 12, 2008 be tabled due to there not
being a quorum.
Chief Tooley introduced Officer M. Timpano who provided a demonstration of SP.D.'s newest vehicle, battery
powered T3. This vehicle can be charged to ride up to 25 miles, has a zero -turn radius and can get up to 28
MPH. This vehicle was purchased with drug seizure funds and is a useful public relations vehicle. SP.D. is the
only agency in central Florida using a T3 in patrol, special events and street crimes. Longwood P.D. has one T3

utilized in a school.
Chief Tooley Address CAB
• Attended Florida Police Chiefs Association conference in St. Augustine — January 11 - 14 Great
equipment demonstrated and displayed at the conference. Excellent training to all the Chiefs was also provided.
All police chiefs attending the conference stressed concern regarding the economy.
• Discount Pharmacy (W. 1 St.) armed robbery in progress of January13 Suspect is a 20 year old male from
Wisconsin addicted to oxycotin. SP.D. officers did an outstanding job safely apprehending the armed robber.
• SP.D. has one decibel meter. Lieutenants and Sergeants have received instructions on its use. Noise
complaints can be handled more effectively.
• MLKing Blvd historical marker dedication (old Bevier Rd /5 St.) — January 17 9 a.m.
• MLKing Parade — January 19 10 a.m.
• Self initiated calls as of October 2008 was approximately 15,000. This number is up by 48% since last year.
The Street Crimes Section and patrol have become more proactive and this has impacted the criminals on the
street and made our community safer.
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 P.M.
