PRESENT: Mark McCarty, Katheryn Alexander, Helen Mausser, Mark Russi, Nancy Roberts, Brian Too ley-
Police Chief and Gracy Posley
Absent: Excused — Betty Jack, David Daly, Agnes Knighton and Dr. Brenedette Hardy -Blake

Called to Order by Mr. McCarty.
Mr. McCarty requested the Minutes of August 13, 2008 be tabled due to there not being a quorum.
Chief Tooley Address CAB
■ Sgt. A. McCoy — suspect (George Warren) arrested for the downtown robberies in 2007 plead to 31 years in
prison
■ TS Fay floodings prompted the purchasing of Jon boats for the future. Jon boats will be useful in reaching
residents in flood areas
■ Gift Cards for Guns program of September 5th was acknowledged as a huge success. This was a first time
venture in Seminole County and the community loved it
■ SPD's Diversity and Conflict Resolution training (September 2 was a good refresher for some employees,
new ideas for all; another opportunity for all PD employees to get together (or at least in three parts!) and
ultimately be an even better team
■ Recognition Day by the Hickory Ave. Church of God (August 30 was a grass roots thank you by the
church family to all police department employees
■ As result of the diligence and commitment of Investigations, a serial rapist was sentenced to Life
imprisonment for his parole violations. He still has to face SPD charge regarding the murder of a prostitute near
Todd's tomatoes.
■ Another cold blooded homicide investigation has been forwarded to the State Attorneys Office with arrests
anticipated regarding the Video News murder
■ Tactical Operations continue to arrest prostitutes and the johns, getting the maximum jail time possible. SPD
has been working to get the prostitutes drug treatment to address the repeat offenders. Tactical Operations are
doing a great job of responding to all the neighborhood drug complaints received
■ Reminded CABoard members of SPD Awards Program — Tuesday, September 16 6:30 P.M., Sanford Civic
Center. Lester and Anna McCollough will receive an honorary award.
New Business
(Mr. McCarty) — made the suggestion to consider natural gas for City vehicles. Chief Tooley will add this idea
to the gas saving plan.
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
