Sub - Station (Wal -Mart Center) PRESENT: Mark McCarty, Tom Carpenter, Helen Mausser, Sonya Banner, David Daly, Betty Jack, Nancy Roberts, Dr. Brenedette Hardy - Blake, Brian Tooley — Police Chief and Gracy Posley Absent: Excused — Mark Russi and Agnes Knighton Audience: Lester and Anna McCollough (Hidden Lakes) Called to Order by Chairperson Mr. McCarty. Mr. McCarty requested the Minutes of December 13, 2006 be adopted if there were no changes. Motioned by Mrs. Mausser, seconded by Mrs. Banner; Minutes were approved as written. Old Business ■ Mrs. Banner — traffic enforcement at SR46A and Oregon Ave. (traffic congestion during traffic stops /ticket writing); resolved. Mrs. Mausser — speeders are driving 50 MPH in Hidden Lakes during paving project; resolved. Chief Tooley Address CAB ■ Attended the Florida Police Chiefs Association Conference in St. Augustine, January 7th — 10th ▪ The City of Sanford has mailed a letter of request to purchase the Farmers Market property (6.75 acres) at the fair market price of $735,000. as the site location for the public safety complex. ■ S.P.D. Wellness Program 2007 being initiated for employees. The purpose of the program will be to enhance fitness and health "[Chief Tooley introduced Officers J. LaBree, P. Rivera and Shawn Stafford (Sanford Police reserve officer) PhD student of the University of Central Florida in relations to the Laser Shot shooting simulator. The Laser Shot is a computer generated scenario based shooting system designed to enhance the officer's survival skills when confronted with an armed individual. It also improves their decision making when it comes to a shoot or don't shoot situation. This equipment can also be used for holster and accuracy drills.
