The meeting was called to order by ; the Chairman, Mr. B. L. Perkins.
The following letter was presented for consideration:

411 Gentlemen:
I am submitting the following information for your con-
sideration in requesting variance in the Sign Ordinance as it
pertains to maximum size requirements in GC -2 zoned district.
Legal Description: W 6 3/4 Chains of SWk Of SW4 of SW 1/4 N.
of State Rd. 14- 20 -30, more specifically Art Grindle Wheel
Ranch, 17 -92, 6500 Orlando Dr.
The planned use of the property is erection of Art Grindle
Statue /Sign.
Any consideration given this request will be appreciated.

Mr. Stoll was present to speak in favor of the request and pre-
sented a drawing showing the proposed placement of the statue
which is a total of 220 square feet, which would require a
variance of 70 square feet. No one appeared in opposition.

The general feeling of the members was that because of the
size, the deviation from the City Sign Ordinance is too great
to grant the request.

410 Mr. White moved to deny the request, Mr. Perkins seconded,
motion carried.
The discussion then turned to the fact that if it were clas-
sified as a structure then it might be handled differently, and
the Building Official offered to call the City Attorney and
discuss the probability of changing the classification of the
statue.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
