The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
The following letter was submitted by Mr. A. B. Duxbury for
consideration by the board.

Gentlemen:
I am submitting the following information for your considera-
tion in requesting variance in the Zoning Ordinance as it pertains
to front yard setback requirements in MR -2, Multiple - Family Resi-
dential Dwelling Zoned District.
Legal description being the South 29' of Lot 8 and the North
36' of Lot 9, Block 10, Tier 2, E. R. Trafford's Map of Sanford.
Property location is 811 Magnolia Avenue.
The planned use of the property is an addition to a single -
family dwelling.
Any consideration given this request will be appreciated.

Mr. Duxbury explained .that he was requesting a front yard variance
111 in order to build an addition to his home.

• After consideration, it was determined that with this addition
the house would be in line with the houses on adjoining property.
Mr. White made a motion to grant a variance of five feet in the
front yard setback requirements at 811 Magnolia Avenue.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Karns and was carried by a
unanimous vote of the board members.
The following letter was submitted by Mr. Robert Shedden
of the Southern Bell Telephone Company.

Gentlemen:
I am submitting the following information for your consideration
in requesting variance in the Zoning Ordinance as it pertains to
height requirements in GC -2, General Commercial Zoned District.
Legal description being Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 11,
• Tier 8, E. R. Trafford's Map of Sanford. The property is located
at the southwest corner of Laurel Avenue and Ninth Street.
The planned use of the property is a 100 -foot microwave tower.
Any consideration given this request will be appreciated.

Mr. Shedden explained that the telephone company proposes to
erect a 100 -foot tower on top of a one -story building, making the
total height of 130 feet. This will be a radio relay tower for
the purpose of providing more circuits. They will comply with all
of the federal regulations.
After consideration, Mr. Julian made a motion to grant a variance
of 80 feet in the height requirements in GC -2 District at the
location of the southwest corner of Laurel Avenue and Ninth Street.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Karns and was carried by a unani-
mous vote of the board.
The following letter was next submitted for consideration by the
board.

I am submitting the following information for your considera-
tion in requesting variance in the Zoning Ordinance as it pertains
to height requirements in GC -2, General Commercial Zoned District.
Legal description being all of Block 10, Tier 8, E. R. Trafford's
map of Sanford. Property location is 815 French Avenue.
The planned use of the property is a Law Enforcement Complex
with a 125 -foot radio transmitting antenna.

After consideration, Mr. Karns made a motion to grant a variance
of 75 feet in the height requirements in GC -2 District at the
• location of the Sanford Law Enforcement Complex, 815 French Avenue.
The motion was seconded by Mr. White and was carried by the
unanimous vote of the board members.
The following letter was submitted for consideration by the board.

tion in requesting variance in the Sign Ordinance as it pertains
to corner lot setback requirements in SC -3, Special Commercial
Zoned District.
Legal description being Lots 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8, Block 2,
Tier 6, E. R. Trafford's Map of Sanford. Property is located
at 312 West First Street.
• The planned use of the property is to replace a nonconforming
sign.
Any consideration given this request will be appreciated.

410 Mr. Richard Matz of Gutmann, Dragash & Matz Architects was
present to represent the bank in requesting a variance in the
Sign Ordinance in order to place a new sign for the new bank
building in the same location as the present sign.
After consideration, Mr. White made a motion to grant a variance
of seven feet in the corner lot setback requirements in SC -3
District at the location of 312 West First Street for the First
Federal bank to replace a nonconforming sign.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Julian and carried with Mr. Karns
abstaining from voting. The vote stands as follows:
