HomeMy WebLinkAbout01241974 sp min r Board of Adjustment • Special Meeting January 24, 1974 10:00 A. M. The Board of Adjustment met in reconvened session of the adjourned meeting of January 23, 1974. The meeting had been adjourned due to the lack of a quorum. Members Present: B. L. Perkins, Chairman Robert E. Karns W. Garnett White W. M. Philips Members Absent: Ned Julian Others Present: Bill Braceland, Building & Zoning Official Al Payne, Building Inspector Chairman Perkins called the meeting to order. 111 Consideration was first iven to the request of Mr. Wesley g q s ey L. Burks for a variance in front and side yard setback require- ments in SR -1 Zoned District at the location of Lot 37, South Pinecrest 3rd Addition, 3304 South Park Avenue. Mr. White reported that he had made an on site inspection of the property and had determined that although the addition to the building would protrude 11 feet more in the front than the neighboring houses, it would be behind the tree line. Mr. White then moved that a variance of 2.5 feet in the side yard and a variance of 6.9 feet in the front yard setback re- quirements be granted at 3304 South Park Avenue. The motion • was seconded by Mr. Karns and was carried by a unanimous vote. Consideration was next given to the request of Mr. C. A. Johnson, II, owner representative of the Sanford Sheraton Inn, for a variance in the City's Sign Ordinance. After discussion, Mr. Karns moved to grant a variance for an • off point of purchase sign in GC -2 Zoned District at the loca- 1, tion of the southwest corner of Persimmon Avenue and First Street, with the stipulation that there be no unfinished faces of the sign exposed to the public. The motion was seconded by Mr. White and was carried by a unanimous vote. Board of Adjustment Page 2 January 24, 1974 • Consideration was next given to the request of W. Vincent Roberts, M.D., for a variance in the Zoning Ordinance as it pertains to front and side yard setback requirements in RMOI Zonded District in Lot 2, Block 8 of Mellonville, 300 Mellonville Avenue. After consideration, Mr. White moved that a variance of 10 feet in the front yard and a variance of 10 feet in the side yard setback requirements be granted at 300 Mellonville Avenue.
