Garnett White Members Absent: Wally Phillips Others Present: L. J. Risner, Building Official 0. G. Owen The Chairman called the meeting to order. The following letter was submitted to the Board for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, Florida Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your con- sideration in requesting variance in the Zoning Ordinance as it pertains to front yard, side yard and rear yard setback re- quirements in a R -2, One and Two Family Zoned District. Legal description being Lots 6- 7- 8 -9 -10, Block 15, Tier 4, E. R. Traffords Map, Sanford, Seminole County, Florida. Property location being 1311 Oak Avenue, Sanford, Florida. The planned use of the property is for expansion of Central Baptist Church Educational Facilities. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed 0. G. Owen, Sunday School Director for the Central Baptist Church was called upon to explain the requested variances. Due to the increase in the church enrollment additional space is needed for Sunday School classes. The church is unable to pur- chase additional property from abutting property owners. After discussion by the Board members, Mr. Karns moved that the follow- ing variances be granted: 25' front yard variance on Oak Avenue 25' front yard variance on 14th. Street 14' rear yard variance on the alley Seconded by Mr. White and duly carried. The second item of business was consideration of a letter sub- mitted by Mr. Edward J. Lachtara. Board of Adjustment 411 City Hall Sanford, Florida Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your con- sideration in requesting variance in the Zoning Ordinance as it pertains to side yard setback requirements in a R -1A, Single Family Zoned District. Legal description being Lot 1, Block 2, San Sem Knolls, First Addition. Property location being 1902 Marshall Avenue. The planned use of the property is for an addition of a Florida room to a single family dwelling. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed Edward J. March 16, 1972 Page 3 side of his single family dwelling for the addition of a Florida room. The addition would have to be on this side due to an existing swimming pool. Mr. Risner also pointed out there were no real close neighbors on this side due to a drainage easement. After a short discussion by the Board members, Mr. Julian moved that the 8' side yard variance on the 19th. Court side be granted, seconded by Mr. Karns and duly carried. Mr. Julian moved that a recommendation be sent to the City Commission that the current application fee of $5.00 be changed as follows: $25.00 - Residential and Non - profit Organizations $50.00 - Commercial and All Others Seconded by Mr. White and duly carried.
