HomeMy WebLinkAbout11021970 sp min BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT Special Meeting November 2, 1970 The Board of Adjustment met in a reconvened session of the adjourned meeting of October 29, 1970. The meeting had been adjourned due to lack of a quorum. Members Present: B. L. Perkins, Chairman Bob Karns Wally Philips Ned Julian Other Present: L. J. Risner, Building Official Chairman Perkins called the meeting to order and reading of • the minutes were waived to avoid delay in the meeting. The following letter was submitted by Mr. E. C. Harper, Jr. for consideration by the Board. Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, Florida Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting variance in the Zoning Ordinance as it pertains to front yard sighproof fence setback requirements in R -1AA Single Family Dwelling District Zoned District. Legal description being Lots 1- 2 -3 -4 -, Block 8, Bel -Air Subdivision, Sanford, Florida. Property located at 2001 Mellonville Ave. Sanford, Florida. The planned use of the property is residential with a request to erect a six (6) foot concrete block fence in the front yard area. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed E. C. Harper, Jr. owner Board of Adjustment 410 ; November 2, 1970 Page 2 A lengthy discussion followed regarding the possible traffic hazard that this fence might cause. Consideration was given to the physical appearance of the solid concrete fence and to possible feelings of the adjacent property owners and to other possible problems that could result from the erection of this fence. Thereupon, Mr. Karns moved that the variance be granted, providing that the fence not be over 5' in height and that no permanent fence or other construction be placed on the easement. Seconded by Mr. Phillips with a roll call vote as follows: Karns aye Philips aye Julian naye Chairman Perkins voted aye to carry the motion. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
