BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
Special Meeting
Dec. 11, 1969

Chairman Perkins called the meeting to order and
minutes of the last meeting were waived to avoid delay in
the meeting. The following letter was submitted by Rev.
G. Blair McGarvey, representing the Sanford Alliance Church
at 1401 Park Ave.

Gentlemen:
I am submitting the following information for your
consideration in requesting variance in the Zoning Ordinance
as it pertains to an Accessory Building in an R -3 Multiple
Family Dwelling Zoned District.
Legal description being Lots 1,2,6 & 7, Block 16,
Tier 3, E. R. Traffords Map of Sanford. Property located
at 1401 S. Park Ave., Sanford, Florida.
The planned use of the property is continuation of
accessory use. Any consideration given this request will be
appreciated.

Due to the fact that no one was in attendance from
the Sanford Alliance Church, Mr. Risner was asked to explain
the variance. He informed the board members that a permit
F had been issued to erect an accessory building to be used for
Sunday School rooms earlier this year and now it was requested
is they be allowed to build a covered walkway between the existing
church and the new accessory building, a distance of 6', to
prevent their members from getting wet when going from one
building to the other. The steep pitch of the roof caused the
water to pour into the areas between the existing buildings
very badly and adds to the already existing problem. By adding
this covered walk it would tie the two buildings together and
therefore a ten (10) foot variance in the rear yard would be
required to meet zoning regulations in that particular zone.
After a short disucssion of the board members, Mr.
Strickland moved that the ten (10) foot variance in the rear
411 yard be granted, seconded by Mr. Karns. Voting was unanimous.
There being no further business siness the meeting was adjourned.
