The following letter was introduced in opposition to the request.
Mr. B. L. Perkins
Sanford, FL
Dear Mr. Perkins,
In regard to zoning variance coming up on property on Mellonville Ave. and
Seminole Boulevard. As this is residential property on lake front setting,
I wish to see the guidelines stay as are in respect to building.
These guidelines have served well for over thirty -one years,as we have ob-
served them.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Albert 0. Jarrell
Mrs. Jarrell was present to speak in opposition in addition to the letter.
She has adjoining property and said she was now, and was always in opposition
to the requested variance.
Mr. Knowles, City Manager, was present and informed the board members that he
had been drawn into the matter by a call from Mrs. Jarrell, who was very upset
because Mr. Bosse had told her that Mr. Knowles had recommended that she should
not oppose the request, and that she was definitely opposed. Mr. Knowles had
• no knowledge of the matter until the phone call. He went out to the Bosse res-
idence but did not talk to John Bosse, who was out of town. He said that he ob-
served that the property has plenty of room for a garage to be placed without in-
fringing upon the required setbacks and so this could not be considered a hardship
case. A hardship case is something which is natural, and not self - inflicted.
After discussion, Mr. Karns moved to deny the request. Mr. Philips seconded.
Motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
B. L. Perkins, Chairma
W.M. Philips, Sec'y. -Trea .
