HomeMy WebLinkAbout10141999 min MINUTES 411 The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:30 A.M. on October 14, 1999 Members Present: Sylvia Smith - Co Chairman Barbara Knowles Ruth Stamm Karl Stairs Members Absent: Larry Blair - excused Others Present: Dan M. Florian, Acting Building Official Arlene Rumbley, Secretary The meeting was called to order at 11:35 A.M. by the Co - Chairman Sylvia Smith. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 S Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Address: 2420 Maple Ave Legal Description: 20 Blk 14 3rd Section Dreamwold, as recorded in Sanford PB 4 PG 70, of the Seminole County, Florida Zoning Classification: SR -1 Other - Wooden Fence in Front Yard: 4 ft Present Setback: 6 ft Variance Needed: 2 ft The planned use of the property is to Install 6' Wooden Fence in Front Yard. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: James M & Ildelisa Suttenfield Mr. Florian, Acting Building Official, presented the case 99-3510, request is to have a fence in the required front yard setback area that does not meet the City Code regarding the allowable height, received input from the zoning department they do not have any objection to the fencing already erected.Recommed compliment by planting landscaping along the fence. The Community Development Director is to deny the fencing did not present no compelling reason to grant the 1111 variance. Mr. Florian felt the same way to have a compelling reason to override the zoning setback requirement. BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MINUTES - OCTOBER 14, 1999 - 11:34 A.M. PAGE 2 • Mr. Suttenfield was present to represent the request. He presented to the board some pictures of his neighbors house and back yard with all the junk and debris. After discussion, Mr. Stairs made a motion to deny the request. Ms. Knowles seconded the motion. Address: 105 Wornall Dr. Legal Description: Lot 3 Country Club Park as recording in Sanford, PB 50 PGS63- 66 of the Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: PD Side Yard - 5 ft Present Setback - 3 ft Variance Requested: 2 ft The planned use of the property is for existing S/F Res, Survey in error during construction on the side yard setback. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Masterpiece Homes_ Inc Mr. Florian, Acting Building Official presented the case 99 -3427, 105 Wornall Dr, requested a side yard setback variance, based on the subdivision, when the subdivision surveyed when they were doing the foundation the survey was off 2' and it was inspected and approved and the house was built that way. Subsquence survey turned up the air of the survey, therefore they need a variance to be • incompliance with the City Code. Robert Fitzsimmons, President for Masterpiece Homes was present and represented his case. Mr. Stairs approved the request for the variance of the side yard 2'. Ms. Stamm seconded the motion.
