The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City
• Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:30 A.M. on April 8, 1999.
Members Present: Larry Blair, Chairman
Karl Stairs
Sylvia Smith
Carol Dennison
Ruth Stamm
Others Present: Dan M. Florian, Acting Building Official
Arlene Rumbley, Secretary
The meeting was called to order at 11:35 A.M. by the Chairman Larry Blair.
The following letter was submitted for consideration:

Gentlemen:
I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the
Zoning Ordinance.
Address: 1309 W. 11th St.
• Legal Description: East 50' of the West 100 ft of the North 1 /2 of Lot 34, Robinson's Survey of an
addition to Sanford, according to the plat thereof, as recorded in Sanford PB 1 PGS 92 & 93, of the
Seminole County, Florida
Zoning Classification: MR -2
Front Yard Setback Requirement: 25 ft
Present Setback: 20.54'
Variance Needed: 4.46ft
The planned use of the property is to add porch in front with existing slab.
Any consideration given this request will be appreciated.

The meeting was called to order at 11:30 A.M. by the Chairman Larry Blair.

Gentlemen:
• I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the
Zoning Ordinance.
Address: 1106 Scott Avenue.
Legal Description: Lot 21, Mayfair Section First Addition,according to the plat thereof, as recorded
in Sanford PB 13 PG 69, of the Seminole County, Florida
Zoning Classification: MR -2
Accessory Bldg Setback: 4' ( Side)
Present Setback: .6"
Variance Needed: 3.5
The planned use of the property is to erect an Utility Shed.
Any consideration given this request will be appreciated.

Mr. Miller was present to represent the request. Mr. Miller stated he will paint the shed the same
color as the house and the put the roof on the shed. Mr. Miller stated that the fence is the neighbors
fence. Mr. Miller will add electric to the shed for lights.
Ms. Smith asked Mr. Miller if there is any type of hardship in moving it over to meet the setback
requirements, is there a 36" Oak tree to the south that you are trying to save? Mr. Miller said he
• would have to tear out the blocks and cutting the slab to move it over. Ms. Smith said there is no
reason that you could not comply to the setbacks.

• Ms. Smith made a motion to deny the request that there is no special conditions or circumstances
that particular to the land to prohibit him from complying with the setbacks and basically that he was
negligent that he has brought the hardship on himself . Ms. Dennison seconded.

Motion Carried from four to one
Mr. Blair told Mr. Miller that he has 30 days to appeal to the City Commission to over turn this if you
wish to.
