HomeMy WebLinkAbout04281995 min • MINUTES The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:30 A.M. on April 28, 1995. Members Present: Larry Blair, Chairman Karl Stairs Carol Dennison Henry Sweet Member Absent: Sylvia Smith,excused Others Present: Gary Winn, Building Official Arlene Rumbley, Secretary The meeting was called to order at 11:30 A.M. by the Chairman Larry Blair. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: • I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Address: 500 E. 6th Street Legal Description: LOT 6,BLK 7, TR B TOWN OF SANFORD, RECORDED IN PB 1 PG 56 of the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: SR -1 Front Side Yard Setback Requirement: 25 feet Corner street side Present Setback: 12' foot Variance Needed: 13 feet Side Yard Setback Requirement: 7 1/2' foot Present Setback: 2' foot Variance Needed: 5 1/2 foot Maximum Building Area: 35% Present Setback: 41% Variance Needed: 6% The planned use of the property is to erect a Garage. PAGE 2 Mrs. Dennison made a motion to deny the request. Henry Sweet seconded. Mrs. Dennison advised the board that the garage would be to close to the 6th street side. The board agreed that if Mr. Johnson would put a 30 x 60 garage up they would agree 13' setback on the 6th street side and a 5 1/2 side yard setback. Mr. Johnson agreed. Mrs. Dennison made a motion to approve the 13' setback on 6th street side and a 5 1/2 side yard setback. Mr. Stairs seconded. Blair - aye Stairs - aye Dennison - aye Sweet - aye Motion carried The next letter submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration • in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Address: 132 Academy Avenue Legal Description: Lot 17, Academy Manor Unit 1 , PB 13 PGS 92 -93 as recorded in the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: SR -1 Front Yard Setback Requirements: 25 feet Present Setback: 12 feet Variance Needed: 13 feet The planned use of the property is to erect a carport to an existing single family residence. Mr. Sweet made a motion to approve the request with the stipulation that the carport never be enclosed. Mrs. Dennison seconded.
