Members Present: Larry Blair, Chairman Karl Stairs Norval Angle Sylvia Smith Member Absent: Carol Dennison, excused Others Present: Gary Winn, Building Official Mary Muse, Secretary The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Address: 603 Oak Avenue • Legal Description: W 80 FT OF THE N 51 FT AND THE W 76 FT OF THE S 6 FT OF LOT 6, PLUS THE N 18.5 FT OF THE W 76 FT OF LOT 7, BLK 8, TR 4, E. R. TRAFFORDS MAP OF SANFORD, PB 1, PG 56 -64 of the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: SR -1 Side Yard Setback Requirement: 15 feet street side Present Setback: 1 foot Variance Needed: 14 feet The planned use of the property is to erect a garage. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: P. Kay Bartholomew Ms. Bartholomew was present to represent the request. The board previously granted a 12 ft. variance. Due to some misunderstanding the variance should have been for 14. ft. Mr. Angle made a motion to amend the previous request and allow a 1 ft. side yard setback. Ms. Smith seconded. Address: 2548 El Capitan Dr. Legal Description: LOT 12 BLK 28 DREAMWOLD PB 4 PG 99, AS RECORDED IN PB 4 PG 99 OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL. Zoning Classification: SR -1, Single Family Residential Side Yard Setback Requirement: 7.5 FT. Present Setback: 5 ft. Variance Needed: 2.5 ft. The planned use of the property is to erect a single family residence. Signed: Amefika Geuka • Ms. Freda Burleson, representative for Golden Rule Housing was present to represent the request. It will be an affordable house sold to a pre - qualified buyer. The house has a single car garage and the price range is $55,000 to $57,000. They wish to situate the house on the lot as requested in order to save some trees on the lot. Mr. Angle made a motion to approve the request to allow a 5 ft. side yard setback in order to save trees. Ms. Smith seconded. Blair - aye Stairs - aye Angle - aye Smith - aye Motion carried. Zoning Classif icati)n : SR -1 Side Yard Setback Requirement: 15 feet street side Present Setback: 9 feet Variance Needed: 6 feet The planned use of the property is to erect a porch onto a single family residence. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Jay Murphy Mr. Murphy was present to represent the request. They wish to add a front porch onto the house. With the added porch, it would be contiguous with the other houses on the street. This is the first styrofoam house being built in the city limits. Ms. Smith made a motion to approve the 6 ft. variance request to allow a 9 ft. side yard setback. Mr. Angle seconded. Blair - aye Stairs - aye Angle - aye • Smith - aye Motion carried.
