Members Present: Larry Blair, Chairman Sylvia Smith Norval Angle Member Absent: Joe Hartwig Karl Stairs Others Present: Gary Winn, Building Official Mary Muse, Secretary The meeting was called to order at 11:35 A.M. by Larry Blair. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: • I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Variance Needed: 280 sq. ft. The planned use of the property is to erect a single family residence. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Dennis Aagaard, Agent Dennis Aagaard was present to represent the request. He informed the board that the building has been condemned and is beyond repair. Would like to remove the condemned structure and build another structure to replace it. Presently, there is a vacant lot on one side of the property. The board requested Mr. Aagaard to check into having the owner possibly purchasing the vacant lot next to it to allow a bigger lot size. Mr. Angle made a motion to table the request until Mr. Aagaard • provided proof in reference to the purchase of the vacant lot. Ms. Smith seconded. Blair - aye Smith - aye Angle - aye Motion carried. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance Address: 205 Sanora Blvd Legal Description: Lot 4 & W 1/2 of Lot 5 BLK H Sanora Units 1 & 2 Replat PB 17 PG 11, of the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: SR -1AA Side Yard Setback Requirement: 10 feet Present Setback: 0 feet • Variance Needed: 10 feet • MINUTES - BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT - MAY 28, 1993 - 11:35 A.M. PAGE 3 The planned use of the property is to erect a garage onto an existing residence. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: George Freese Mr. Freese was present to represent the request. Mr. Freese informed the board that he has moved the structure 4" away from the wall. A letter was submitted from the adjoining neighbors with no objections to the proposed garage addition. The structure adjacent to the existing wall will be open that side. There will be 4" x 4" post only on that side with the gutter along the roof line. Mr. Angle made a motion to approve the request with the stipulation that the garage addition will never be enclosed. Address: 539 Valencia Street Legal Description: E. 1/2 of Lot 25, all of Lot 26, Blk 7 San Lanta, as recorded in PB 3 PG 80 of the Public Records of Seminole County, FL AND also that part of the vacated Railroad R -O -W adjacent thereto on the South. Zoning Classification: SR -1A Side Yard Setback Requirement: 10 feet Present Setback: 3.21 feet Variance Needed: 6.79 feet The planned use of the property is to erect a sun room onto an existing slab. • Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. • MINUTES - BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT - MAY 28, 1993 - 11:35 A.M. PAGE 4 Danny Lee was present to represent the request for the owners. The owners are wanting to erect a sun room onto an existing slab that is 6.79 feet from the side property line. The new addition will not go beyond the existing side of the house. There will not be an overhang on the side and it will have the same stucco style as the house. Mr. Angle made a motion to approve the request since it was keeping in line with the existing structure. Ms. Smith seconded. Blair - aye Smith - aye Angle - aye Motion carried. Mr. Winn advised the board members that the City Commission is requesting an attendance record of each board member at time of reappointment. The Commission will also be advised if a member was absent, if it was excused or unexcused. Therefore, it will be the responsibility of each board member to call the secretary at least one day prior to a scheduled meeting to inform her if that member will be present or not.
