• MINUTES
The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in
Regular Session in the City Commission Chambers of the City Hall
at 11:30 A.M. on May 8, 1992.
Members Present: Larry Blair, Chairman
Sylvia Smith
Norval Angle
Member Absent: Karl Stairs
Joe Hartwig
Others Present: Gary Winn, Building Official
Mary Muse, Secretary
The meeting was called to order at 11:30 A.M. by Larry Blair.
The following letter was submitted for consideration:

Gentlemen:
• I am submitting the following information for your consideration
in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance.
Address: 300 Bay Avenue
Legal Description: Lot 44 (less N. 125') J.E. Pages Subd., as
recorded in PB 1 PG 91, Sanford, Seminole County, Florida.
Zoning Classification: RMOI
Side Yard Setback Requirement: 20 feet
Present Setback: 12 feet
Variance Needed: 8 feet
Front Yard Setback Requirement: 30 feet
Present Setback: 29 feet
Variance Needed: 1 foot
The planned use of the property is to construct an addition onto
existing commercial facility.
Any consideration given this request will be appreciated.

George Powell and Jim Berko were present to represent the
request. The new addition will be a screening /assessment /holding
area away from the regular patients in the waiting area. The
police and family members will have an area where they can wait
while the potential patient is being screened. The placing of
• the new addition at the corner of Bay Avenue is that there is a
nurses station and a rest room in the immediate area of the court
yard and the building, making it convenient for people waiting

and for the contractor to tie in to the plumbing.
Mr. Winn stated that staff did not have any problems with the
request due to the circumstances involved. Mr. Angle made a
motion to approve the 8 ft. side yard variance and the 1 ft.
front yard variance request. Ms. Smith seconded.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
