HomeMy WebLinkAbout08091991 min 4 r t!i Loi1 111 MINUTES The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:30 a.m. on August 9, 1991. Members Present: W. M. Philips, Chairman Norval Angle Larry Blair Members Absent: John McClanahan Karl Stairs Others Present: Gary Winn The meeting was called to order at 11:30 a.m. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford FL 32771 • Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Address: 2216 Magnolia Avenue Legal Description: Lot 16, Orange Park Subdivision as recorded in PB 3 PG 42 of the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: SR -1A Side Yard Requirements: 10 ft(interior) and 25 ft(street side) Present Setbacks: 7.5 ft(interior) and 15.5 ft(street side) Variance Needed: 2.5 ft(interior) and 9.5 ft(street side) The planned use of the property is to construct a single family residence. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: David Stump Mr. David Stump, Stenstrom -Stump Construction, was present to represent the request. He will not have to remove any trees on the lot. The existing homes are not located 25 feet from the property line. The previous zoning ordinance allowed homes on • corner lots to be located 15 feet from the property line on the street side. Norval Angle made a motion to approve the request. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: I any submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Address: 2820 Palmetto Avenue Legal Description: Lot 24, 2nd. Addition to Parkview as recorded • in PE 4 PG 5 of the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: MR -2 Required Lot Size: 7500 square feet Present Lot Size: 7263 square feet. Variance Needed: 237 square feet The planned use of the property is to construct a duplex. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Barbara Jackson Ms. Barbara Jackson was present to represent the request. She is requesting the variance so she can construct a duplex so she could live near her mother who needs care. The other unit is for the person who would be taking care of her mother while she is at work. Mr. Winn advised the board that in the past people would have been able to build on property as long as it was a platted lot of record. Norval Angle made a motion to approve the request. Park Avenue Legal Description: Lot 6 and 6.5' of N. of Lot 7, Tr 3, E.R. Traffords Map of Sanford as recorded in Public Records of Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: SR -1 Required Side Yard: 25 feet Present Side Yard: 9.12 feet Variance Needed: 16 feet The planned use of the property is to enclose existing carport. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. III Halford Welch Mr. Halford Welch was present to represent the request. He advised the board that they needed the extra room so when they had visitors, there was a place for them to stay. Larry Blair made a motion to approve the request. Norval Angle seconded. PAGE 4 Property Address: 808 E. 20th Street Legal Description: Lot 51 plus the E. 25 ft. of Lot 52, Magnolia Heights as recorded on PB 5 PG 76 of the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: SR -1A Required Side Yard: 10 feet Present Side Yard: 2 feet Variance Needed.: 8 feet The planned use of the property is to erect an aluminum carport. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Donald Waite Mr. Richard Zapp, with Exterior Homesavers, was present to represent the request. He advised the board that there is an existing concrete slab where the carport will be erected. Mr. Winn advised the board that he could not recommend approval due to it being so close to the property that it would be up to the board. Larry Blair made a motion on staff recommendation to deny the • request. Norval Angle seconded. Philips - aye Angle - aye Blair - aye Motion carried.
