Members Present: Larry Blair Steve Richards Norval Angle Members Absent: W.M. Philips John McClanahan Others Present: Bettie Sonnenberg Linda Gentry, Secretary The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Case #90 -32 Address: 409 Tucker Drive • Zoning Classification: AG (Agricultural) Side Yard Requirements: 20 feet. Present Setbacks: 14 feet Variance Needed: 6 feet The planned use of the property is to construct a single family dwelling. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Michael Korgan Michael Korgan & George Mullins, contractor, were present to represent the request. Mr. Mullins stated that the lot they were requesting the variance in order to be able to save a very large old oak tree and that all the surrounding homes were single family. Mr. Korgan had been annexed into the city upon requesting city water and sewer but was still zoned as agricultural. Norval Angle made a motion to approve the request. Case #90 -33 & *90-34 Address: 100 & 102 Lindsey Way - Lots 13A & 13B Lindsey Estates 101 & 103 Lindsey Way - Lots 1A & 1B Lindsey Estates Zoning Classification: MR -1 Side Yard Requirements: 25 feet Present Setbacks: 15 feet • Variance Needed: 10 feet The planned use of this property is to construct a one (1) duplex on each lot. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Bruce White Bruce White was present to represent the request and stated that he wanted the variance in order to be able to maintain the appearance of the existing duplexes in this low- income housing subdivision. Mr. White advised that the side property line would be 20' from the living area but only 15' from the attached utility room. He also advised that he could build a two -story duplex but it was against the current homeowners wishes because it would be at the beginning of the subdivision and would not be consistent with what was already there. Norval Angle made a motion to deny the request. Motion died due to the lack of a second. • Steve Richards made a motion to approve the request. Norval Angle seconded for the sake of discussion. PAGE 3 • Norval Angle again made a motion to deny the request due to the fact that if 46A was ever 4- laned, it would place the property too close to the roadway. Larry Blair seconded. Blair - aye Richards - opposed Angle - aye Motion carried. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, Florida 32771 Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Case #90 -35 Address: 700�Airport Blvd. • Legal Description: Tier B Placid Lake Subdivision PB 43 PGS 5 -10 as recorded in Sanford, Seminole County, Florida Zoning Classification: MR -3 Present Height Requirement: 35 feet Variance Requested: 4 feet The planned use of this property is to construct a 244 unit apartment complex. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: P.A.0 Land Development Tom Cavanaugh, Eric Kuritzky & David Jacobs were present to represent the request. Mr. Kuritzky stated that the reason for the request was due to the fact that some of the apaAtments will have vaulted ceilings and he felt the apartments would not be out of line with other apartment complexes in town. Mr. Cavanaugh stated that there will be a large number of trees left in the front of the complex and the buildings will not be • seen easily from the road (Airport Bv.). PAGE 4 _. • Steve Richards made a motion to approve the request as long as the natural buffer was left in the front of the complex so the buildings could not be seen from Airport Blvd. as stated. by Mr. Cavanaugh.
