HomeMy WebLinkAbout11101889 min • The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:30 a.m. on November 10, 1989. Members Present: W.M. Philips Steve Richards Norval Angle Members Absent: Larry Blair Joe Schaffer Others Present: Bettie Sonnenberg The meeting was called to order at 11:35 a.m. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. • Case #89 -19 Address: 101 S. French Avenue Legal Description: Zoning Classification: SC -3 Front Yard Requirements: 35 feet Present Setbacks: 5 feet Variance Needed: 30 feet The planned use of the property is to erect a canopy over gas pumps. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Melvin Dekle Mr. Dekle was present to represent the request. Mrs. Sonnenberg advised the Board that the Plans Review Committee recommended a 15' waiver to allow a 10' setback for the canopy addition and that Exxon Company, E.L. Williams Company and Mr. Dekle have all agreed to reduce the canopy length to a minimum of 7' from the center -line of the pump island. This would allow a 10' setback. • Norval Angle made a motion to approve the request for a 10' setback. Steve Richards seconded. Case #89 -20 Address: 1101 Myrtle Avenue Cal 1 (-) t 1"S 1) Legal Description: Lot 6, Blk 13, Tr 5 E.R. Trafford's Zoning Classification: SR -1 Side Yard Requirements: 25 feet Present Setbacks: 13 feet Variance Needed: 12 feet • Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Winsong Development Stead Vestey was present to represent the request and advised that the house they are planning to build would be facing Myrtle Avenue and that the property was purchased the first part of 1988 before the current Land Development Regulations went into effect. At that time they would have neede to request only a two (2) foot variance. Steve Richards made a motion to approve the request. Mr. Angle seconded. Martin's Addition PB 1 Pg 98 Zoning Classification: MR -2 Side Yard Requirements: 25 feet Present Setbacks: 18 feet Variance Needed: 7 feet Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Donald & Jeannie Hunt Jeannie Hunt was present to represent the request and advised that they wanted to erect a garage and a room onto the rear of the existing dwelling. In order to do this, they needed a variance of two (2) feet in the rear and six (6) feet on the • side. The garage would be entered from the alley. Case #89 -22 Address: 2549 El Capitan Drive Zoning Classification: SR -1 • Side Yard Requirements: 7.5 feet Present Setback: 2.9 feet MINUTES - BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT - NOVEMBER 10, 1989 - 11:30 A.M. PAGE 4 • Variance Needed: 4.6 feet Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Paul & Audrey Markos Paul Markos was present to represent the request and advised the Board that he was requesting the varinace to be able to sell the property, if necessary, as a buildable lot without the purchaser having to come before the Board for a variance. Norval Angle made a motion to approve the request with the stipulation that if the lot is ever fenced it must be from the corner and a 5' variance easement must be on the side to allow accessibility to the adjoining property. The following letter was submitted for consideration: • Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, Florida 32771 Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Case #89 -23 Address: 3795 Orlando Drive Zoning Classification: GC -2 Sign Requirements: 50 square feet Variance Requested: 13.33 square feet The planned use of this property is to erect a ground sign. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. PAGE 5 • that the landscaping would be done as required. They want to increase the sign to 63.33 square feet instead of the allowable 50 square feet.
