HomeMy WebLinkAbout07281989 min • The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:30 a.m. on July 28, 1989. Members Present: Larry Blair, Acting Chairman Norval Angle Steve Richards Members Absent: W.M. Philips Joe Schaeffer Others Present: Gary Winn The meeting was called to order at 11:40 a.m. by the Larry Blair, Acting Chairman. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: • I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance in reference to Rear Yard requirements. Address: 500 Fulton Street Zoning Classification: SC -3 Setback Requirements: 200 feet Present Setback: 180 feet Variance Needed: 20 feet The planned use of the property is to install a driveway onto French Avenue. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Porter - Conklin Partnership Cal Conklin was present to represent the request. He stated that they have 180' road frontage and are requested to have 200' according to the City of Sanford Land Development Regulations. He also advised that they are proposing to close and repair the south existing curb cut on French Avenue committing to only use one of the two (2) French Avenue curb cuts that exist on the property. When the driveway is put in, an easement will be dedicated and when the adjoining property owner utilizes the • driveway, they will also dedicate an easement so the proposed driveway will accomodate both parties. PAGE 2 • Mr. Richards made a motion to approve the variance with the stipulation that the center of the appraoch is to be no less than 100 feet. Richards - aye Angle - aye Blair - aye Motion carried. Property Location (Address): 1621 W. First Street Zoning Classification: GC -2 • The planned use of the property is for medical offices. Lot Width Requirements: 85 feet Present Setbacks: 66.5 feet Variance Needed: 18.5 feet Parking Space Requirements: 13 Parking Spaces Existing: 10 Varinace Needed: 3 spaces Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Robert McKee, Agent Robert McKee & Darrell Carter (Seminole Bank) were present to represent the request. Mr. McKee advised that the doctor going into the office was a specialty doctor and only has one (1) full time employee and one (1) part -time employee and himself working in the office. The office is only open from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and he only has a couple of patients at a time. Also, there are several parking spaces on the street in front of the office if needed. Mr. Angle made a motion to approve the variance. Mr. Richards • seconded.
