HomeMy WebLinkAbout07141989 min • The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:30 a.m. on July 14, 1989. Members Present: Joe Schaeffer Norval Angle Steve Richards Members Absent: W.M. Philips Larry Blair Others Present: Gary Winn The meeting was called to order at 11:35 a.m. by the Joe Scheafer, Acting Chairman. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: • I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance in reference to Rear Yard requirements. Address: 203 Loch Low Drive Legal Description: Lot 2 Blk G Hidden Lake Unit 1 -C PB 17 PGS 55 & 56 Zoning Classification: SR -1A Setback Requirements: 4 feet Present Setback: 1 foot Variance Needed: 3 feet The planned use of the property is to erect a screen enclosure over an existing pool. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Michael J. Benton Lois Smith was present to represent the request. She stated that the pool was already installed when the house was purchased and that the posts for the screen enclosure would be placed on the existing deck around the pool leaving one foot from the side of the slab to the property line. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall • Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen, I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance in reference to Lot Width requirements. Property Location (Address): 2400 Blk of Bay Avenue Legal Description: S. 33' of Lot 134 & All of Lots 136 & 138 PB 5 PG 62 Zoning Classification: SR -1AA • The planned use of the property is to divide 3 lots into 2 lots. Lot Width Requirements: 85 feet Present Setbacks: 66.5 feet Variance Needed: 18.5 feet Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Glenn & Deborah Lobsinger Deborah Lobsinger was present to represent the request. She stated they want to make two (2) lots out of the existing three (3) lots in order to be able to build two (2) separate houses. Mr. Winn advised that the variance was needed because of the new requirements under the Land Development Regulations. Mr. Angle made a motion to approve the variance. Mr. Richards seconded. PAGE 3 • The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting variance in the Zoning Ordinance for Parking Lot requirements. Property Location (Address): 215 Coastline Road Legal Description: Lot 33 PB 33 PGS 64 -66 Zoning Classification: RI -1 Planned use of the property is commercial. Spaces Required: 22 Spaces Requested: 16 Variance Needed: 6 Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. • Signed: Kevin Spolski, Agent Mr. Spolski advised the Board that 16 parking spaces would be more than the number of employees to be employed by the business and if each employee drove one vehicle they would still have two (2) remaining spaces. There is no plan to expand the building at this time and by having only 16 spaces it would also help to save the greenery. Mr. Winn advised the board that if there was a change of use that sufficient parking would have to be provided and approved by Planning & Zoning. Mr. Richards made a motion to approve the request. Property Location (Address): 2413 French Avenue Legal Description: Lot 5 Less the N. 38.37' and All of Lots 5,6,7,8,9 Less the W. 8' for Right -of -Way for French Avenue Beck's Addition to Sanford PB 3 PG 101 Zoning Classification: GC -2 Planned use of the property is to erect a canopy. Setback Requirements: 10 feet Present Setbacks: 6.6 feet Variance Needed: 3.6 feet • Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: William P. Toot, Agent for A.O.K. Tire Mart Max Stevens from R.O.K. Tire Mart was present to represent the request. Mr. Winn advised the board that he had approved plans for the canopy not realizing that it was on the side of the building instead of on the front. He also stated that the canopy had improved the appearance of the building a great deal and had no objection to it remaining there. Mr. Richards made a motion to approve the variance request.
