HomeMy WebLinkAbout03241989 min MINUTES • The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:30 a.m. on March 24, 1989. Members Present: W.M. Philips, Chairman Steve Richards Norval Angle Members Absent: Larry Blair Joe Schaffer Others Present: Bettie Sonnenberg The meeting was called to order at 11:40 a.m. by W.M. Philips, Chairman. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: • I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance in reference to using an existing single family residence as a professional office. Address: 2490 Orange Avenue Legal Description: Lot 25, Sanford Park PB 5 PG 62 Zoning Classification: RMOI Lot Size Requirements: 10,000 sq. ft. Variance Needed: 7,080 sq. ft. The planned use of the property is to use as a professional office. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: A.B. Peterson, III & Bill Gray A.B. Peterson, III and Bill Gray were present to represent the request. They stated that the single family dwelling was in a zoning district which allowed a professional but since it had been built about 20 years ago, it did not meet present setback requirements. They advised that they would have the required parking and that they had contacted D.O.T. about a curb cut and • they had agreed to take care of it. Property Location (Address): 2518 S. French Avenue Zoning Classification: GC -2 • The planned use of the property is to erect a ground sign. Setback Requirements: 15 feet Present Setbacks: 5 feet Variance Needed: 10 feet Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Mobil Oil Company William Kerley was present to represent the request. He stated that Mobil Oil Company was taking over the existing Gulf station and wanted to erect a new sign. He advised that the sign would be located in the same place as the existing sign but, according to the new Land Development Regulations, they needed a variance to replace the sign.
