HomeMy WebLinkAbout01131989 min • The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:30 a.m. on January 13, 1989. Members Present: Larry Blair Joe Schaffer (absentee vote) Garnett White Members Absent: W.M. Philips Others Present: Gary Winn The meeting was called to order at 11:35 a.m. by the Garnett White. The followin g letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration • in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance in reference to Front Yard requirements. Address: 251 W. 1st Street Legal Description: Lots 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 Blk 3 E.R. Trafford's PB 1 PG 56/64 Zoning Classification: SC -3 Setback Requirements: 9 feet Present Setback: 1 foot Variance Needed: 8 feet The planned use of the property is to erect a bank sign. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Seminole National Bank Pat Epting was present to represent the request. He stated that he had met with the City Commission in reference to this problem and was scheduled to meet with them again on the 23rd of January 1989. Mr. Conklin was also present to represent the Historical Board. He stated that the Historical Board calls for smaller signs but that they did support the bank's request. • Mr. Blair made a motion to approve the variance for the ground sign. Mr. Schaffer seconded. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen, I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance in reference to Side Yard requirements. Property Location (Address): 136 Garrison Drive Legal Description: Lot 6, Blk F Country Club Manor Unit 2 PB 11 PG 100 Zoning Classification: SR -1 The planned use of the property is to erect a carport. • Setback Requirements: 7.5 feet Present Setbacks: 3.5 feet Variance Needed: 4 feet Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Alfred A. Lessard Mr. Lessard was present to represent the request. He stated that the house belongs to his parents and he is in the process of buying it. A letter was submitted from a neighbor, Carolyn Robertson, stating that she has no objections to the carport. Mr. Lessard advised that the carport had been erected a few years ago. Mr. Blair made a motion to approve the carport as it is with the stipulation that it can never be replaced or enclosed. Mr. Schaffer seconded. Blair - aye Schaffer - aye White - aye • Motion carried. Setback Requirements: 7.5 feet Present Setbacks: 5 feet Variance Needed: 2.5 feet • Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: John R. Youngblood There was no representative present. Mr. Winn advised the Board that Mr. Youngblood was moving a house to a lot with 5' setbacks on each side of where the house is to be placed. He stated that he had no objections to the placement of the house. Mr. Schaffer made a motion to approve the request. Mr. Blair seconded. Blair - aye Schaffer - aye White - aye Motion carried.
