HomeMy WebLinkAbout100901 SMAB mins City of Sanford 4111/ Sanford Museum Advisory Board Meeting Minutes October 09, 2001 Present: Grace Marie Stinecipher, Chairman Christine Kinlaw Best Charlie Carlson Jim Cara Commissioner Art Woodruff Alicia Clarke, Curator Julie Ellenburg, Secretary Absent: Dr. John Morgan Douglas Stenstrom Richard Packard At 5:20 P.M. meeting was called to order by Grace Marie Stinecipher, Chairman. • Charlie Carlson noted that his name was omitted from the minutes of the June meeting. Minutes were approved as corrected. In regard to the Museum expansion, Ms. Stinecipher asked Commissioner Woodruff for an update on the hotel proposal and Riverwalk plan. Commissioner Woodruff showed the board a drawing of the proposed hotel and Riverwalk plan. A discussion of these plans followed. The board determined that no further planning of the Museum expansion could be done until plans for the conference center are finalized. The Chairman asked for recommendations for new board members to replace Dr. Vann Parker and Douglas Stenstrom. Recommendations from board were Patty Swann, Dave Russi and Janice Springfield. The board discussed the Museums plans for the 2001 Sanford Historic Trust Homes Tour. The Museum will serve as the tour head quarters. Commissioner Woodruff recommended that the be placed on the tour of Christmas trees. Projects for fall 2001 were discussed. The museum staff will be working on projects for the125th anniversary of Sanford for 2002. • Meeting was adjourned at 6:45 PM.
