A lengthy discussion of the contributions of the Vincent family followed. Mr. Packard expressed concern about the proximity of Lake Carola to the back of the museum. He stated that he had been worried about this since he first came on the board. Ms. Clarke reminded the board that former City Commission liaison Kerry Lyons had promised to pursue an engineering solution to this problem but that this project was put • on hold due to construction plans for the convention center. The board requested that a note regarding this matter be sent to new liaison Brady Lessard. • Advisory Board March 14, 2000 Page 2 Mr. Cara asked if the retired Navy officers group had decided to meet at the museum. Ms. Clarke said Don Moore was working on this. Ms. Clarke also explained that she was working to encourage a community effort to build a Navy memorial at the airport. Discussion followed regarding the history of the Navy base. New Business Ms. Clarke asked for help in creating a list of celebrities with a connection to Sanford.
