SANFORD MUSEUM
ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12, 1995
Present: Dr. Vann Parker
George Scott
Doris Gormly
Donald Vincent
Richard Packard
Others in Attendance: Alicia Clarke, Curator
Yvette Hartsfield, Secretary
Meeting was held at the Sanford Museum and called to order at
5:15pm.
Motion: The Curator asked for nominations for Chairman. Don
Vincent moved that Douglas Stenstrom be nominated as the Chairman.
Richard Packard seconded the motion. Motion carried by unanimous
vote.
Richard Packard and George Scott were introduced as new members.
• The Board had a lengthy discussion regarding the goals for 1996.
The board had an open discussion regarding the new front sidewalk.
Don Vincent recommended that the Engineering Department cut waffles
in the concrete so that the water will run in the waffles instead
of settling in one place.
The Board discussed the bricks that will be laid in front of the
Museum. Keith Gandy recommended that George Scott be contacted to
lay the bricks.
The sports exhibit was discussed and a possible committee would

include: Vann Parker, John Morgan, Bud Layer, Gary Taylor, and
Douglas Stenstrom.
The board had a lengthy discussion regarding selling photos to the
public for a small profit. Don Vincent stated that he would like
to make his collection available to the public, but the board was
not for sure how to monitor this project. The board decided to
look at the way other museums handle this.

The Curator stated that Dr. Vann Parker will be the new contact
person for the Seminole County Historical Society.
The board discussed the possibility of the museum going on the
Internet.
The Curator asked for suggestions for possible repository for the
extra copies of the Sanford Papers register.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:30pm.
