ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
MARCH 9, 1993

Meeting was held at City Hall in the Recreation Office. Meeting
was called to order at 5:25.
The Chairman asked if there were changes or deletions to the
minutes of December 9, 1992. There being none, the minutes were
approved by unanimous consent.
• The Board had a lengthy discussion on the By -Laws of the Advisory
Board.
The Board discussed changing the name of this Board to "Sanford
Museum Advisory Board." The Board voted to change the name to the
Sanford Museum Advisory Board by unanimous consent.
The Board had a lengthy discussion on the historical marker for
Chase Groves to designate the site of Belair. The Curator stated
there will be a park on the site of Mr. Sanford's lodge and
construction will begin soon. Mr. Tucker stated that it would cost
approximately $800.00 for a marker. Mr. Tucker also suggested that
the Board should work on this in conjunction with the Seminole
County Historical Society or the County Commission.
The Board had a lengthy discussion regarding Mr. Sanford's
participation in the citrus industry in this area.
Mr. Tucker suggested that the Board appoint a committee to work on
the marker for Belair. The following people will serve: Myra
Bales, Cecil Tucker and Bob Mann.
The Curator updated the Board on landscaping plans for the museum.
The plans include material taken from Belair.

The Board discussed the Waterfront Improvement Project that was
initiated to analyze what should be done with Sanford's waterfront
over the next twenty -five years. The Board has been asked to
participate in the planning phase.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 1993 at 5:15 P.M.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:30
P.M.
