• ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
DECEMBER 14, 1993

Dr. Vann Parker
Others in Attendance: Alicia Clarke, Curator
Yvette Hartsfield, Secretary
Meeting was held at the Sanford Museum. Meeting was called to
order at 5:15 P.M.
The Board took a walk through of the Museum building.
The Chairman asked if there were changes or deletions to the
minutes of September 14, 1993. There being one amendment regarding
the Stadium being discussed, minutes were approved by unanimous
consent.
The Chairman stated that Elizabeth Gallant, Jack Pantelias and Don
Vincent were reappointed to the Board.
• The Curator stated that the Board name will soon be officially
changed to "Sanford Museum Advisory Board."
The Curator updated the Board on the status of Lake Carola's water
level. The Parks Director has been informed that the Board wishes
the level to be kept low.
The Board had a discussion on the status of the County Museum.
The Curator stated that the Mayor will be using the new building on
January 20, 1994 for an official City function but the museum will
not open to the public until February.
The Board had a lengthy discussion regarding meeting dates. It was
recommended that the Board revert to quarterly meetings. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
Motion: The Chairman asked for nominations for Chairman, Vice -
Chairman, and Secretary. The following nominations were made:
Robert Mann - Chairman; Sylvia Stallworth, Vice - Chairman; and Don
Vincent, Secretary. Elizabeth Gallant moved that the nominees be
accepted as Chairman, Vice - Chairman, and Secretary. Dr. Vann
Parker seconded the motion. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
The Board had a discussion on the opening date of the new Museum.
It was discussed to open the building on January 29. It was also
• suggested by the Curator to reopen on February 8 when the original
building was open.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 1994.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 P.M.

of the expiration of your term as a member of the Henry Shelton Sanford Memorial

endeavor, and re- appointed you to the Henry Shelton Sanford Memorial Library and
Museum Board for a three year term commencing November 5, 1993, and expiring
November 4, 1996.
