JULY 14, 1992

Meeting was held at the museum. Meeting was called to order at
5:15.
The Chairman asked if there were changes or deletions to the
minutes of April 14, 1992. There being none, the minutes were
. approved by unanimous consent.
The Curator updated the Board regarding drainage for the new
museum. Lake Carola cannot be used as a retention pond.
The Chairman stated that the end of September has been set as a
tentative date to begin construction.
The Chairman stated the City Commissioners approved the name change
from the Henry Shelton Sanford Memorial Library and Museum to the
Sanford Museum.
The Board discussed the name of this Board being changed to Sanford
Museum Advisory Board. The Curator stated that she would discuss
this with the City Manager to alter the ordinance of the Board.
The Board had a lengthy discussion regarding fund raisers for the
new Museum.
The Chairman stated that the Board needs to make up a list of
people to be recognized for major contributions to the museum.
The Curator stated that the Board needed to come up with an idea to
honor these people. She suggested a plaque with the names engraved
on it.
The Board had a lengthy discussion on the need for donations of
• landscaping items around the new building. The Board discussed
sending out pleas for donations.

The Board discussed an historical marker for Chase Groves to
designate the site of Belair. Mr. Tucker stated that he could
advise the Board regarding what Seminole County requires for a
marker.
The Board discussed getting the young people of the community
involved with the Museum during construction.
The next meeting was set for Tuesday, August 18, 1992 at 5:15 PM.
There being no further discussion, meeting adjourned at 6:40 PM.
