Chairman Bill Welborn called meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.
Invocation by Bette Gramkow.
Linda Tucker took roll call.
Minutes of meeting of February 7, 1990 were read. Jim Jernigan
motioned to accept minutes as read. Seconded by Bette Gramkow.
All Favor.
Old Business:
Mr. Jernigan updated the committee on the effluent system
installed at the cemetery. The DER permit was received today.
It will be a minimum of 3 weeks before the system will be
running.
The City will have a dedication on the cemetery improvements.
Staff is requesting the presence of the Chase family at the
dedication. It is also requested that the Cemetery Advisory
Committee members attend.
The Chairman asked for an update on improvements for Babyland.
Bette Gramkow will get prices for small granite markers.
New Business:
Mr. Jernigan reviewed with the committee the Citizen
Participation Plan which will give citizens the opportunity to
make donations for cemetery improvements. A booklet has been
printed showing the donations needed. Chairman, Bill Welborn is
submitting a letter from the Cemetery Advisory Committee
recommending that the City adopt this program.
The Committee will compose a list of potential donors in which to
send letters requesting donations.
Bette Gramkow suggested that a plaque be installed in the
cemetery showing the names of donors.
Mr. Jernigan asked the Committee for recommendations to submit to
the City Commission for appointment of a member to replace Kim
r
Dent who has moved out of town. Bette Gramkow motioned to ask
Doug Stenstrom to serve on the Committee. Seconded by Bill
Welborn. All favor vote. Mr. Jernigan will call Mr. Stenstrom
and ask if he would be willing to serve.
Next Cemetery Advisory Committee meeting was scheduled for
Wednesday, October 17, 1990.
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned at 4:05
p.m.
