They proposed that the 4L City put up a sign stating " Babyland" painted in pink, blue & black; erect a cypress fence across the back of the area, and remove all the sod and replace it with deco stone. City's cost would be $1,320. - $1,590. The Committee consented for staff to do this project. The Committee is concerned about the continued vandalism being done at the old cemetery behind Lakeview. Engineering Dept. done a survey to determine who owned this property. A list of the ownerships were turned over to the City Attorney for answer on just what can be done back in this area. New Business Carefree Lawn Systems' contract was terminated by the City in November, 1991. Parks staff has been maintaining the cemetery until a new contractor can take over. Howard Jeffries stated that Charlie Collier & himself are on standby. A letter will be sent to all funeral homes with names and phone numbers. Bernard Mitchell mentioned that a small marker should be put on graves immediately upon burial. There have been problems with other funeral homes not doing this, then months later this causes problems in determining the location of the grave. The Committee requested that a letter be sent to all funeral homes requesting that a marker be put on the grave immediately upon burial. No further business meeting was adjourned at 4:19 p.m.
