Meeting called to order by Chairperson, Bette Gramkow.
Invocation given by Bill Welborn.
Roll call taken.
Minutes of January 27, 1993 were read and approved with no
changes.
OLD BUSINESS
Howard Jeffries presented a sample of the markers the City would
like to install on the graves in Babyland. Cost would be
approximately $350.00. Funds may be available at end of budget
year. City received consensus from the Committee to install these
markers.

Howard also discussed the proposal to fill in the ditch behind
the cemetery. Cost would be approximately $30,000., however this
project would generate revenue of $68,000. in new spaces. This
proposal will be presented to the City Commission.
NEW BUSINESS:
The S.I.B. Beautification Award for the month of March was
awarded to the Municipal Cemetery.
Howard Jeffries presented a proposal to convert Lots 1,2,9, 10,
17, 18 Sec. M, First Addn. Evergreen to standard veteran
spaces, and to convert the cremation spaces in Lot 19 & 29,
Section H, First Addn. to veteran cremation spaces. This would
provide an additional 46 standard veteran spaces and 22 veteran
cremation spaces. Bill Welborn moved to recommend to the City
Commission that the city convert those lots mentioned to veteran
spaces and to also develop the Crawford property for cemetery
expansion, and to consider purchasing additional property for
future expansion of the cemetery. Seconded by Bette Gramkow.
PASSED.
No further business meeting was adjourned at 4:05 p.m.
