Invocation given by Fred Gaines. Roll call taken by Linda Tucker. Minutes of January 26, 1994 were read. Patricia Speer, moved to accept the minutes. Seconded by Fred Gaines. PASSED. OLD BUSINESS: Discussion of Babyland: Bette Gramkow reported that the large granite stone marking "BABYLAND" has been installed. She stated that she knows a monument dealer who will make 8' x 10' granite signs for $10.00 /each. Bette stated that she would donate 10 markers. Fred Gaines made a motion to ask the City to pay for the remaining markers from donations. It was also suggested that annuals be planted. Grounds Maintenance staff is going to install planters on end corners of Babyland. The fence has already been painted by the Parks crew. NEW BUSINESS: Election of Officers: Patricia Speer moved that Bette Gramkow be appointed Chairman for one additional year. Seconded by Fred Gaines. PASSED. Fred Gaines moved that Patricia Speer be appointed Vice - Chairman. Seconded by Bette Gramkow. PASSED. REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF CEMETERY RULES & REGULATIONS: The Cemetery rules and regulations were reviewed by the Committee. See the revised rules and regulations attached. The major change was to delete the portion on annual care and perpetual care payments. City should discontinue collecting these fees. It was discussed by the Committee to increase the price of iscemetery spaces. Staff is to do a survey with other cemeteries. Fred Gaines made a motion to recommend to the City Commission to increase the price of burial spaces to $575.00. Cost of cremation spaces and baby spaces should remain at present rates. Seconded by Patricia Speer. PASSED. The Committee also discussed Perpetual Cemetery Care and Annual Care. The Committee recommended that fees for both Annual Care and Perpetual Care be deleted from the rules and regulations due to the fact- that all cemetery spaces get the same care whether this fee is paid or not. Next cemetery committee meeting is scheduled for July 26, 1995. No further business the meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m. 0 9
