CEMETERY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Meeting of
January 17, 1996

Meeting was called to order by Chairperson, Bette Gramkow.
Invocation was given by Bette Gramkow.
Minutes of meeting on Oct. 25, 1991( were read and approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
Howard informed the Committee that Babyland has been sodded. The
Ixora Garden and Camelia Circle Club donated funds toward this
• project.
Howard informed the Committee that there had been a few
complaints about the contractor damaging markers. The Bon Terre
Group is to take a survey of damages and make corrections.
Howard informed the Committee that effective Nov. 1, 1995 the
City is now charging for Opening /Closing of graves at a cost of
$300.00 /Monday - Saturday and $350.00 /Sunday and Holidays.
NEW BUSINESS:
Howard informed the Committee that Parks staff has installed
fencing around the perimeter of Lakeview.
Question was asked on whether the City should install signage in
the cemetery to identify sections. Howard recommended installing
signs and also a location map. The Committee voted to recommend
that the City purchase and install location signs.
Howard informed the Committee that the City is now giving free
veteran spaces outside the designated veteran area. This enables
the wife to purchase a space beside her husband.
No further business the Cemetery Advisory Committee meeting
adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
