CEMETERY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Meeting of
October 23, 1996.

Meeting was called to order by Chris Neal. Invocation was
given.
Minutes of meeting on 4/17/96 and 5/22/96 (Special Meeting) were
read and approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
Howard mentioned the need for signage at the cemetery. He asked
for the Committee's recommendations for signs. The consensus of
the Committee was to install a large information sign in Lakeview
& Evergreen and install a small letter sign in each section. The
City is to prepare a bid for signage.
Howard gave an update on the cemetery maintenance contract. The
contract with Bon Terre Group, Inc. is to be extended for one
year with a 5% increase.
Howard informed the committee of the need for expansion of the
cemetery. It is estimated that all cemetery spaces will be sold
within the next four years. He explained that the property behind
the cemetery which was purchased from Mrs. Viola Crawford could
be filled in and used for burials. It was recommended that the
Engineering Dept. make recommendations to make this property
suitable for cemetery spaces.
Chris Neal pointed out that the roads in the back section of the
cemetery need to be repaired. Howard stated that the Street
Department has plans to fill in these roads.
No further business the Cemetery Advisory Committee meeting
adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
