CEMETERY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Meeting of February 2, 2000

Meeting called to order by Bill Welborn.
Linda Tucker took roll call.
Howard Jeffries gave the invocation.
Minutes of October 13, 1999 were read and approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
Update on Crawford property: Howard reported that the irrigation has been installed
and the area has been overseeded. A border of eleagnus is being planted down both sides
to separate this property from the adjoining property.
Concerns about Page Jackson cemetery: Howard reported that there has been individuals
concerned about the poor condition of Page Jackson area which is located in the County.
These calls have been referred to Phil Stalvey, who is coordinating cleanup for the
County.
Update on the red brick building in Evergreen section: Howard reported that $10,000.
has been allocated in the 1999 budget to repair the building. Bid specifications are being
written and will be sent out soon. Repairs will be minimum, example reroofing, closing
up the windows, demolishing the inner walls and treating for termites. Fred Gaines asked
what the building would be used for and Howard replied that at the present time there are
no plans but to preserve the building since it is an historic site.
• NEW BUSINESS:
Need for tree removaUpruning: Howard reported that there are many large trees that need
removed or pruned. Bon Terre Inc. has removed or pruned some of the trees but only a
minimum since this is not required in his contract. Staff has requested to include this
project in next year's contract for an additional fee.

Reaglwintment of Eliza. Pringle to serve another term: Linda Tucker reported that Ms.
• Pringle has been reappointed by the City Commission to serve a second term on the
committee which will expire March 30, 2003.
Election of new officers: Bill Welborn requested that the appointment of new officers be
extended to the next meeting since we have few members in attendance.
Discussion of items for 2000 Bud eft: Howard asked the Committee if they had any
requests for the 2000 Budget. A couple members requested that funds be allocated to
repair the roads.
There being no further business meeting was adjourned at 4 :10 p.m.
