Invocation was given by Thelma Mike. Linda Tucker took roll. Minutes of January 290', 2003 were read and approved OLD BUSINESS: 1. CEMETERY PAVING • Howard Jeffries reported that the paving of the cemetery was rescheduled to FY 2003 -2004. Additional funds were put in budget for 2003 -2004. Funds for 2002/2003 will be rolled over to cover costs for paving. With the additional funding we should be able to get more paving completed. 2. UPGRADE OF A VETERAN SECTION— CRAWFORD PROPERTY Christopher Neal reported that he is still working on upgrading the Veterans section of the Crawford Property. He has contacted a few Veteran organizations and should have some information for the next meeting. 3. DONATION OF J.T. ALLEN PROPERTY Howard Jeffries reported that the J.T. Allen Property has been donated by the Rose Payne family, however the city attorney is in the process of researching the title for this property. • 4. UPDATE ON TREE CLEAN UP Howard Jeffries reported that there are many trees that need to be cut down or elevated. The City is in the process of obtaining quotes for this project. NEW BUSINESS- 1. INFORMATION REGARDING SOLICITATION FOR CITY TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL CEMETERY PROPERTY Howard Jeffries reported that he had been approached by a realtor who was soliciting cemetery property. The property for sale would not have been good investment for the City, therefore this request was denied. 2. REAPPOINTMENT OF COBBIN MCGEE TO SERVE ANOTHER TERM ON THE CEMETERY COMMITTEE Howard Jeffries reported that Cobbin McGee's term of office expired 3/10/03. However, the City reappointed him to serve another term which expires 3/10/05. No further business meeting was adjourned at 4:15 p.m. • •
