Recreation & Parks Conference Room Sanford, Florida 32771 ABSENT: Christopher Neal (1 vacant position) Meeting chaired by Mac Hultin. Invocation by Fred Gaines. Roll taken by Marc Hultin Minutes of October 23, 2003 read. Fred Gaines motioned to accept. Motion approved. OLD BUSINESS Status on paving cemetery roads. Marc reported that $35,000. was allocated in the budget for paving the cemetery roads. He presented a proposal which showed the North and South roads to be paved first, then later pave the areas between. Update on improving Veteran area in Crawford Section Marc reported that Christopher Neal is working on a proposal for improving this section and is also going to approach the local veteran organizations for donations. Cobbin McGee mentioned that he was contacting the American Legion to request names of organizations who may have resources for this project. Replacement of vacancy on Committee: Marc informed the Committee that Andrew VanGaale, Deputy City Manager had planned to attend this meeting to speak on the status of replacing the vacancy on the Committee. However due to a conflict with another meeting he was unable to attend. Marc informed Mr. VanGaale that the Committee had recommended replacing the vacancy with a representative of a local veteran organization. NEW BUSINESS: Request from citizen to cleanup Section J: Marc requested input from the committee regarding a letter from a citizen requesting that Sec. J be cleaned up in order to be in compliance with the cemetery rules and regulations. The Committee suggested that a letter be sent to those lot owners not in compliance requesting them to clean up /remove items within 90 days or the City will take further action to remove it. In section 111 C: 8 it plainly defines the coping and edging requirements. Every grave site utilized after April is, 1998 that has edging other than "marble, granite, or continuous poured minimum of 6 " square concrete containing #5 rebar" is out of compliance. In addition: 1. In one of the pictures you will notice that ever - present trash pile as you enter the J section. 2. In two of the pictures you will see the sizable ant beds that we hmm }n '`!e out there. 3. We were told the city was irrigating that section. I have lost more grass to the weeds in my lot i have never seen the first sign of irrigation. 4. People eat out there and throw wrappers on the ground S.
