No decision had been made as yet, and when this is decided the members will be notified. Information on current FEMA cemetery project: Marc updated the committee on the pending FEMA projects. Many trees in the cemetery were damaged by the (3) three hurricanes that hit Sanford last fall. The City hired a tree contractor to cut down all the damaged/hazardous trees, however because his equipment was too large to work around the cemetery markers he was unable to grind the stumps. In April/05 we hired Lewis tree Co. to do this work. Recommendation on name change for Crawford Property: Christopher Neal mentioned to the committee that he had several people inquire about the Crawford section with the understanding that this property was not part of the Municipal Cemetery because of the name "Crawford ". Linda informed the Committee that the property was called this because it was purchased from Mrs. Viola Crawford and it had never been changed to another name. After discussion from the Committee, Christopher Neal motioned to recommend to the Commission to rename the Crawford section "Third Addition Evergreen aka Crawford Property". Fred Gaines seconded the motion. Approved. 1*No further business, meeting was adjourned at 3:45pm. Next meeting is scheduled for Oct.26, 2005 as Committee does not meet during summer months.
