HomeMy WebLinkAbout01132000MinMINUTES • The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:30 A.M. on January 13, 2000. Members Present: Larry Blair, Chairman Karl Stairs Sylvia Smith Ruth Stamm Members Absent: Barbara Knowles - excused Others Present: Dan Florian, Acting Building Official Arlene Rumbley, Secretary The meeting was called to order at 11:35 A.M. by the Chairman Larry Blair. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 • Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Address: 1809 Palm Way Legal Description: Lot 5 , Bel Air, according to the plat thereof, as recorded in Sanford PB 9 PGS 83 -84, of the Seminole County, Florida Zoning Classification: SR -1 FrontYard Setback RequirementAft (Fence) Front Side Yard Setback Requirement: 4ft (Fence) Present Setback: 6ft Variance Needed: +2 ft The planned use of the property is to install a 6' fence in the front yard and front side yard. Schedule J, Section 3.2 (E) 2 of the City's Land Development Code. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Richard Taylor Sr. Mr. Taylor present to represent his request. Mr. Taylor said the reason that he has to have the fence 6ft of height because of his dogs, they are for protection, dogs to stay in the yard 24 hours a day. They can jump over 4ft high fence. He stated he is going to put hedges on the inside of the fence, like • holly bushes.Mr. Blair asked Mr. Taylor if he had on going problems already, that this would prevent people cutting thru the yard. Ms. Smith said she did not see any special conditions to allow this request. Address: 901 Magnolia Avenue Legal Description: Lot 6 and the N 16.00' of Lot 7, Blk 11, TR 2, Florida Land and colonization limited E. R. Traffords Map of the Town of Sanford, according to the plat thereof as recorded in PB 1 Pgs 56 -64, of the public records of Sanford, Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: SR -1 Accessory Bldg Setback ( Side ) 5' Present Setback: -0- Variance Needed: 5' The planned use of the property is to replace existing dilapidated garage with new garage. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed:Neville A. Daniels Mr. Daniels present to represent his request. Mr. Daniels needs a variance for several reasons, one I have existing structure there that I am prepared to take down and which is right on the lot line that has a foundation already there, which I will be adding to it. If I move the proposed garage off the lot line I have a pool in back yard already. I have a 5' deck in between the pool and the existing structure. The sewer line that comes out from the house, I will be building the garage over the sewer line • After discussion, Mrs. Smith recommended the setbacks southerly lot line 0' along the easterly lot line of 2' (alley side).
