HomeMy WebLinkAbout04132000MinMINUTES • The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:30 A.M. on April 13, 2000. Members Present: Larry Blair, Chairman Karl Stairs Barbara Knowles Ruth Stamm Members Absent: Sylvia Smith Others Present: Dan M. Florian, Building Official Arlene Rumbley, Administrative Secretary The meeting was called to order at 11:33 A. M. by the Chairman Larry Blair. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 • Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Address: 1000 Maple Ave.. Legal Description: Lot 1 Blk 12 TR 10 A. C. Martin Addn, as recorded in Sanford PB 1 PG 95, of the Seminole County, Florida Zoning Classification: MR -2 Front Yard Setback Requirement: 30ft Present Setback: 28.8 ft Variance Needed: 1.4 ft Front Side Yard Setback Requirement: 30ft Present Setback: 22ft Variance Needed: 8ft The planned use of the property is to Install Aluminum Screen Room with existing patio to a Single family residence. Legal Description: Lot 14, Mayfair Club Phase 2, as recorded in Sanford, PB 54 PGS 84 & 85 in Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: PD is BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT - APRIL 13,2000,11:33 A.M. Page 4 Rear Yard Setback Requirement: 20ft Present Setback: 11.5ft Variance Needed: 8.5ft The planned use of the property is to install a Screen Porch in the rear yard. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Joe and Wendy D' Amico No one was present to represent the case for the Screen Room. After discussion , Ms. Stamm asked the board if anyone goes out and see the properties? Mr. Florian responded and said that they are not required to go out to the properties. Ms. Stamm said she would like for the Building Department to have a map and show where the properties are located for the board.Ms. Stamm stated that the screen room is already in place. Mr. Florian, said that the City came up with new forms for getting variances and they have the criteria that in the City Land Development regulations and standards for the consideration for conventional variances. The City Manager and the Community Development Director and the Code Enforcement Manager created a new requirements for dimensional variances applications, and they wanted to indicate the six criteria if you look in the land development regulations in section 3 -15, that it is a standard for consideration for variances before any dimensional • variances be granted the Board of Adjustment or the Planning and Zoning Commission must and shall find all of the following: and list all the six items. After discussion of the board, denied base on the fact that they created there on hardship building before the necessary permits. Ms. Stamm made a motion to denied the variance from # 2 and 4 of the criteria. Ms. Knowles seconded. Blair - aye Stairs - aye Stamm - aye Knowles - aye Motion carried.
