HomeMy WebLinkAbout01242002Minr: • MINUTES January 24, 2002 The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:35 A.M. on January 24, 2002. Members Present: Members Absent: Larry Blair, Chairman Andrew Valente Ruth Stamm Sylvia Smith Karl Stairs Others Present: Bob Bott, Deputy Building Official Joy Dean, Inspector Jo Ann Johnson, Secretary The Chairperson, Larry Blair, called the meeting to order at 11:35 A.M. The following letter was submitted for consideration: Board of Adjustment City Hall Sanford, FL 32771 Gentlemen: I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning Ordinance. Address: 204 18``' Street West Legal Description: Lots 53, 54 and 55 SANFORD HEIGHTS ADDITION, according to the Plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 2, Pages 62 and 63, of the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: SR — I Side Yard Setback Requirement: 10' Present Setback: 2.16(East) Variance Needed: 7.84 The request for this variance is to vary the side building setback by 2.16 feet to allow for lot 53 to be separated from the property. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated. Signed: Barbara Farrell, Owner MINUTES - BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT — JANUARY 24, 2002 - 11:35 A. M. • PAGE 2 Barbara Farrell, Owner, was present to represent the request. The Owner would like to create a property line between Lots 53 and 54, and build a "bungalow" on Lot 53. Sylvia Smith had a question concerning the SR -IA zoning setback requirements and which street the new structure would face. The size of the new structure was also discussed in relation to how it would affect new setbacks. Discussion ensued. It was agreed that by granting this variance, a hardship would be imposed on Lot 53 to meet the requirements for the new building. It was determined that further research was needed to address this request. Sylvia Smith made a motion that the variance be continued to a date certain, March 14`h, 2001 Andrew Valente seconded the motion. Address: 107 Prince Place Place Legal Description: Lot 97, MAYFAIR OAKS, as recorded in Plat Book 50, Pages 38, 39, 40 and 41, Public Records of Seminole County, Florida. Zoning Classification: MRl RearYard Setback Requirement: 20' Present Setback: 14.8 Variance Needed: 5.2 • The request for this variance is to vary the rear yard setback to allow the construction of a screened room. Any consideration given this request will be appreciated.
